For the past six years, the Boulder Dash 5K|10K has been a source of fun recreation for everyone in the community. This is not your average race as the course winds from Northside Hospital-Forsyth through Bluegrass Materials Company’s active quarry, and provides participants with views of the working quarry face, ancient rock deposits and the impressive equipment used to process and haul the rock. Whether you are an avid runner or prefer to walk, the Boulder Dash race is a wonderful experience. In addition, the fun doesn’t stop when you cross the finish line. Participants can look forward to fun activities, food and a festival like atmosphere at the Bluegrass Spring Fling, just beyond the finish line.

This event takes place at the Cumming Fairgrounds and its mission is a powerful one. Each summer motorcyclists around the country ride through the foothills of the North Georgia mountains to raise support for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, which hopes to eliminate the immense challenges of childhood brain tumors. The Ride for Kids event raises money to help fund medical research and family support groups. But none of this is possible without community involvement, so bring your families out each summer to support!

Bull riding, bare back riding, barrel racing, and calf roping are just a few of the events showcased, and if you aren’t there, then you are truly missing out!
