For the past six years, the Boulder Dash 5K|10K  has been a source of fun recreation for everyone in the community. This is not your average race as the course winds from Northside Hospital-Forsyth through Bluegrass Materials Company’s active quarry, and provides participants with views of the working quarry face, ancient rock deposits and the impressive equipment used to process and haul the rock. Whether you are an avid runner or prefer to walk, the Boulder Dash race is a wonderful experience. In addition, the fun doesn’t stop when you cross the finish line. Participants can look forward to fun activities, food and a festival like atmosphere at the Bluegrass Spring Fling, just beyond the finish line.

Since 2009, Flavors of Forsyth has provided locals and visitors the chance to literally taste all that our town has to offer. United Way encourages you to bring your families out for a fun and delicious spring afternoon. Patrons are able to sample appetizers, entrees and desserts from dozens of local restaurants and there is no doubt you will be seeking second-helpings. This event also includes live music and an Artists’ Market where you can take a look at work from many of our local artists. Children are sure to be entertained in the Kids Zone featuring inflatables, hamster balls and crafts!

Each October, the Cumming Fairgrounds light up with pure excitement and joy as the Cumming Country Fair & Festival takes its 12 day residence. Attending “The Fair” in any capacity is a tradition for so many in Forsyth County, and memories and laughter are a guarantee for any who take part. From live music to thrilling rides, this event is one that you just can’t pass up! And who can say no to turkey legs, funnel cakes, and southern favorite: boiled peanuts. Mark your calendars and be sure to bring your family and friends out to the Cumming Fairgrounds for the time of your lives!

This event takes place at the Cumming Fairgrounds and its mission is a powerful one. Each summer motorcyclists around the country ride through the foothills of the North Georgia mountains to raise support for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, which hopes to eliminate the immense challenges of childhood brain tumors. The Ride for Kids event raises money to help fund medical research and family support groups. But none of this is possible without community involvement, so bring your families out each summer to support!

The Independence Day Celebration at the Cumming Fair Grounds is undoubtedly one of the premier events in the community. Festivities begin on July 3rd with a dance contest, food vendors and kids’ activities starting at 6 p.m. Later that evening the Cumming Fairgrounds and the Chamber of Commerce present a spectacular fireworks show. The annual Steam Engine Parade kicks off the morning of July 4th and signals Independence Day festivities have begun!

The Cumming Fairgrounds have much more to offer than just our annual fair, and the IPRA World Championship Rodeo is a prime example of this.  Each year for a weekend in September, thousands of people gather underneath the Cumming Fairgrounds’ covered arena for a thrilling show at the IRPA World Championship Rodeo. Bull riding, bare back riding, barrel racing, and calf roping are just a few of the events showcased, and if you aren’t there, then you are truly missing out!

Play at the Park is a community festival that features kid’s activities, live entertainment, vendors, and food trucks. This event is brought to you by Forsyth County Parks & Recreation and the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce.

Food Trucks N' Forsyth is held on the 3rd Monday of each month at the Forsyth Conference Center. Different food trucks gather to show off their cuisine along with a live band at each event. Bring out the family to join the community for a fun time and to satisfy your appetite.
