Business Development Incentives

Our community is pleased to offers a wide range of resources to assist businesses with creating new jobs and capital investment. The following information highlights many of our most frequently requested incentive programs:

Financial Resources from the State of Georgia

  • Mega Tax Credit ($5,250 per new job, minimum 1,800 net new employees & annual payroll of $150 million)

Tax Exemptions & Abatements

  • 100% exemption on sales taxes for manufacturing equipment purchased in GA
  • 100% exemption on taxes on goods & inventory
  • Abatements on up to 100% of property taxes (client must acquire property)

Workforce Development Incentives

Forsyth County is home to one of the lowest unemployment rates in our region, and one of the highest high school graduation rates in the nation. We offer a wide range of resources to assist your company with developing its workforce.

Our workforce development incentives include such resources as:

  • Complimentary assistance screening eligible candidates for jobs
  • Complimentary employee training via Georgia’s QuikStart program (covers up to 100% of training costs)
  • Complimentary skills assessments for all new and existing employees
  • Retraining tax credits (up to $1,250 per employee per year)
  • Hiring/ Employee recruitment assistance via partnerships with the Georgia Department of Labor, the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute, Lanier Technical College, and the Governor's Office of Workforce Development

Excellent K-12 Education System

The Forsyth County School system is a leader, not just in the state of Georgia but in the nation. Forsyth County schools currently boast the highest graduation rate in the state of Georgia and the highest SAT scores in metro Atlanta.
