Message from the President

Since coming on board as the President of the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, it has been my pleasure to see the changes this community has been through, and continues to go through. It is my distinct honor and pleasure to be a part of an organization who’s main goal is to make the community a better place- to not only live but to do business in.

I would like to take this opportunity to highlight a few accomplishments of your Chamber in 2011:

  • In 2011, The Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce successfully participated in 14 economic development projects that are projected to generate 855 new jobs and just under $30 million in new capital investment.
  • The establishment of a ‘Small Business Toolkit’ for small businesses looking for resources ranging from ‘ How to Create a Business Plan’, Instructions on Permits and Zoning, and Financial Resources. This toolkit is available online under the Small Business Services Center.
  • More than 1,200 people participating in the numerous small business seminars and educational opportunities annually available through the Small Business Services Center
  • North Georgia’s largest Business Expo with 77 Exhibitors and over 800 participants
  • The Healthcare Association has continued three annual events, Jazz in June, the Mingle Jingle and the Boulder Dash 5k – attracting over 4,000 healthcare professionals and community members annually.
  • The hiring of a full-time Tourism Director, who focuses on promoting our community to visitors and filling our hotels rooms. This is the first time in the history of Cumming and Forsyth County, that a paid staff person markets our community every single day.

On behalf of your 2012 Board of Directors and the entire Chamber staff, thank you for your membership and your commitment to our community’s leading organization for business.

Sincerely,
James McCoy
President & CEO
